Phew, I'm tired. We had such a busy weekend. Of course, there was a lot of Halloween Fun. I literally finished up my little girl's garden gnome costume at 5pm the day of Halloween. I was stressing, but it really came out cute:
Here's a break down of the components:
Check out my Lil' Garden Gnome Hat for more info on the hat. She kept the hat on all night! I was worried she would rage and not wear it.
I used the free Prudent Baby Snappy Toddler Top pattern for the dress. I printed out the pattern at 110% and it fit my little lady perfect. She's wearing an 18 month size. The length I made 14 inches. The dress was a cinch to make. I plan on using this pattern to make more dresses. I highly recommend it.
For the fabric, I purchased a yard of Michael Miller Gnomeville Border Red from Fabric.com.
The elf shoes were sort of time consuming to make, but they ended up turning out really cute. I used the garden gnome shoes on Living Creatively Ever After as my inspiration.
My son wanted a store bought costume. I was sort of sad about that at first, but looking back it was a godsend since I was still working on the Garden Gnome costume as we walked out the door on Halloween.
I have a few great posts coming up in the next few days. I'll be showing off my fitted, monogrammed, slip covered table and a little spray painted, glittery gem.
